Named for the evening star — Venus at dusk, the first light visible as day fades — the Vesper is a wide-brim fur felt hat designed and built by American hat maker Heather Davis under her Sigil hat collection. This hat inhabits the space between the handmade and the ethereal. Its body is made from a deep burgundy fur felt, shaped to a softly domed crown and finished with a generous brim.
Encircling the base of the crown is a hand-detailed band made from a batik suede in shades of brown and navy. The Vesper is finished with a sari silk thin band, anchoring the whole composition with a clean, understated line.
